EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES



Employment applications are accepted Monday-Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm at our Central Office located at: 9 Plaza Drive, Portsmouth, OH 45662



Applicants must be at least 18 yrs of age. Must show proof of high school diploma or GED at time of application. Applicants are subject to pre-employment skills testing and background screening including criminal records check, fingerprinting and prior employment reference checks. SRS is a drug-free workplace.

We are currently accepting applications for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)





DSPs provide support in both home and community settings for individuals with Intellectual developmental disabilities. We practice the philosophy of Gentle Teaching and follow the guidelines set forth in the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) Code of Ethics.


Excerpt from the NADSP Code of Ethics: "A primary purpose of the DSP is to assist people who need support to lead self-directed lives and to participate fully in our nation’s communities...the mission of the DSP is to follow the individual path suggested by the unique gifts, preferences, and needs of each person they support, and to walk in partnership with the person, and those who are significant to them, toward a life of opportunity, well-being, freedom, and contribution..."



DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL- DSP



The MINIMUM requirements for Direct Support Professionals with SRS are:

1. Ability to work with individuals in hands on situations to assist or complete personal care.

2. Medically and physically able to safely complete two person lifts.

3. Medically and physically able to complete homemaking tasks including bending, stooping, squating, stretching and lifting to maintain safe and healthy environments.

4. Ability to read, write and perform simple math.

5. Ability to successfully complete orientation training and on-job training.

6. Proof of high school diploma or GED certification.

7. Successful completion of a local, state, and federal background checks.

8. Minimum of 18 years of age.
